Designed by Architectural Resources Cambridge, this new 526,000sf interdisciplinary, state-of-the-art research, and education facility fosters interaction and collaboration among scientists and promotes innovation and synergies across disciplines. This building attracts researchers, physicians, faculty, students and industry partners, enhancing the Medical School’s position as a leader in medical research and education. The biomedical research building houses an RNAi institute, stem cell biology cluster, cord blood bank, gene therapy cluster, translation science department and Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation.
Approximately 300,000sf of space is for a wet research laboratory, clean rooms, core research space, administrative space, and vivarium. 200,000sf of dry space include teaching areas, 300-seat auditorium, library, conference center, cafeteria, support spaces, and a 1,600 vehicle-parking garage linked to the Lazare Research Building.
