Save Save Cost Control: Vermeulens Shares Ways to Increase Living Standards with Green at No Cost

Denver, CO: Save up front, Save over time this is the green building and planning philosophy used by Vermeulens, leaders in construction cost control. Save Save Cost Control will be fully detailed in co-CEO Richard Vermeulen's upcoming book, Green at No Cost: Economic and Cost Control Strategies that Create No Cost Sustainability, to be released in May, 2015.

With their Save Save methodology, city planners, developers, architects and policy makers see how each component in a planned building or community can be optimized for cost and sustainability, and fit together to form a leaner, more efficient design. Leaner and more efficient transportation, infrastructure, buildings, and amenities. Their process looks for ways that not only save money up front, but will save big over time.

Says co-CEO Richard Vermeulen, 'When we take this component approach and apply it to an entire economy, we can do the same thing. We look at the component parts, the buildings, the transportation systems, and the infrastructure tying those things together, along with which are the most expensive, which are the least. Then we are able to determine how to optimize each one and put them back together as an integrated design that saves money not just up front, but over time.

This approach can be used to form a plan for urban renewal of existing communities as well. In that natural process of renewal, the buildings and other community infrastructures are optimized to save resources and money. With a specific plan, as buildings and transportation systems become obsolete over the course of decades, an entire city may be replaced from the inside out.
