The objective of the renovation is to plan, program, design, and oversee the renovation of the Newton Pavilion into a facility that meets the standards of modern medical care. The Shattuck Hospital accommodates services provided by 3 agencies of the Commonwealth: The Department of Public Health, The Department of Mental Health, and The Department of Corrections.
Shattuck Hospital provides acute and sub-acute adult inpatient care with a total of 260 beds, including 117 beds for The Department of Public Health inpatient medical/surgical units, 115 beds for The Department of Mental Health inpatient units, and 28 beds for The Department of Corrections inpatient units.
